Angel Reese had to hold Kim Mulkey back after the LSU head coach was ejected from Sunday’s game against Northwestern State.
Mulkey vehemently disagreed with an official’s charge call on Aneesah Morrow, leading her to yell and charge onto the court in the referee’s direction.
The official who made the call and got the brunt of the 61-year-old’s rage immediately threw her out of the game.
Moments after she got tossed, Reese – who recently returned to the team from an unidentified absence – grabbed Mulkey around the waist to try and restrain her from getting any further punishment beyond the ejection.
Mulkey broke free from Reese’s grasp momentarily before the forward wrapped her arms around her head coach again to pull her away from the referee once and for all.

Mulkey has yet to be fined or suspended after the incident, which occurred late in the fourth quarter of a game the Tigers won 81-36.
It was her first ejection since becoming the team’s head coach in 2021 and took place with LSU up 41.
After the game, Reese said she and Mulkey have ‘similar personalities’ and it was ‘fun’ to try calming her down.
LSU (11-1) is the No. 7 team in the country and has two more nonconference games before beginning its Southeastern Conference schedule against Missouri on January 4.
Reese returned to the team on November 30 after missing four games for an undisclosed reason.
